Larger buildings move large volumes of soft water continuously through their copper pipes. This “hungry water” if left untreated, seeks minerals from piping, and speeds the corrosion process. Our system can control and arrest corrosion in copper pipes for years, even decades. Even if pinhole leaks (or biofilm) have begun to develop, Hytec Water systems can correct these problems.
Here’s how it works.
HARD WATER MINERALS
We introduce naturally occurring hard water minerals – zinc, calcium, and magnesium – into the building water supply. These minerals, known as Aquasoft SW, create a paper-thin layer in plumbing which arrests corrosion and the formation of biofilm immediately. These naturally occurring hard water minerals are 100% safe, and NSF-approved.
PH CORRECTION
Vancouver’s soft water is high in oxygen and carbon dioxide. It readily absorbs copper, lead, and other minerals from plumbing. We bring the water back to a optimal pH, at 8.0, which allows the protective layer from Hytec’s Aquasoft to work more quickly.
