Hytec Water Systems is a 30-year-old company founded by true leaders in soft water management. We have devised a proven, elegant system for protecting against soft water corrosion in a wide variety of large plumbing systems, including high-rise and low-rise condo buildings, commercial buildings, farming operations, and industrial water systems.
Larger buildings move large volumes of soft water continuously through their copper pipes. This “hungry water” if left untreated, seeks minerals from piping, and speeds the corrosion process. The higher volume of soft water is why B.C. condo owners and other large buildings see premature plumbing failure, while pipes in single-family homes last much longer.
Commercial properties, hotels and office buildings also move large volumes of water through plumbing systems, which can attract pinhole leaks and biofilms in untreated water. The downtime associated with repairing these leaks can cost thousands of dollars and be extremely disruptive to the operation of the building. In many cases, commercial properties have water features that can become plagued with algae. Hytec’s flexible water treatment solutions not only help maintain the building’s plumbing, but can also assist management in the overall operation of the property.
Our system can control and arrest corrosion in copper pipes for years, even decades. Even if pinhole leaks (or biofilm) have begun to develop, Hytec Water systems can correct these problems.
Here’s how it works.
We introduce naturally occurring hard water minerals – zinc, calcium, and magnesium – into the building water supply. These minerals, known as Aquasoft SW, create a paper-thin layer in plumbing which arrests corrosion and the formation of biofilm immediately. These naturally occurring hard water minerals are 100% safe, and NSF-approved.
Vancouver’s soft water is high in oxygen and carbon dioxide. It readily absorbs copper, lead, and other minerals from plumbing. We bring the water back to a optimal pH, at 8.0, which allows the protective layer from Hytec’s Aquasoft to work more quickly.
When pinhole leaks occur, the headaches – and costs – can quickly multiply. The leak must first be found, which requires some guesswork, and often major wall demolition. By that time, the leak will have damaged structures significantly. Add to this the cost of repaired, or sometimes wholly replaced, plumbing, and the cost of Hytec Water systems seems eminently reasonable.
Once the Hytec system is installed, we take care of it for you, ensuring that levels are optimum, pumps are functioning perfectly, and plumbing is working smoothly. This also means that building managers aren’t charged with learning to manage another system.
A ham sandwich has 2000 times more natural minerals/phosphates than a single glass of water treated with Aquasoft. This system is 100% safe and healthy. Conversely, corroded plumbing can introduce dissolved copper, possibly lead and other harmful metals, from the effects of unchecked soft water corrosion.
Soft water corrosion creates unnecessary havoc and needless expense in the many millions of dollars. We have found the most sensible, healthy, elegant anti-corrosion water management strategy available, and perfected a system to deliver it to the marketplace. Our vision therefore is simple: to continue to protect the investments of our community through our clean, proven, simple water management system – for a very reasonable cost.
We are absolutely committed to providing solutions that are 100% healthy and clean. The hard water elements we introduce are much like those found in water that has flowed through hundreds of miles of mineral-rich riverbeds, like that of the South Saskatchewan River. We routinely test and adjust for the precise correct balance of elements.
We’re leaders in water management, and intend to remain at the centre of this discussion. We’re constantly testing, perfecting, and further distilling our systems and delivery model. We update every system every three years.
Our systems have been managing water in hundreds of properties over 30 years. Call us for a reference near your property and start saving with a Hytec System.
